Perfect Aftercare For Sensitizing Treatments

Lock In Your Clients Results

After sensitizing treatments, your client’s results rely on their skin’s ability to heal. The days after a sensitizing treatment is when your client’s skin is at the most vulnerable, and will be prone to reactivity, breakouts, and hyperpigmentation.
This is why products that are specifically created for skincare professionals are essential. Aftercare products need to be formulated to compliment and enhance the results of professional skincare treatments in the critical days after a sensitizing treatment.
Here is an aftercare routine that will help your clients recover, and get the most out of your treatments.

What Are Sensitizing Treatments?

Any treatments that disrupt the barrier of the skin or deeper layers are considered sensitizing treatments. This includes professional treatments like microneedling, laser, peels, and dermabrasion – among many others. These treatments require recovery time, where clients can’t use their typical skincare with strong actives.
It's crucial for clients to properly take care of their skin during this time to get the results promised by the treatment, which will keep them coming back.

1. Gentle Face Cleanser

This is an unscented daily foaming cleanser, that is formulated to be effective yet gentle. It will remove grime, oils and pollution from the day, while protecting the skin’s natural barrier. To prevent the skin from being stripped, the cleanser contains hydrolyzed soy protein, which enhances the skin’s ability to retain moisture. This will decrease recovery times and make following serums and creams more effective. The combination of how gentle the cleansing agent is, the hydrolyzed soy protein to increase moisture retention, and the unscented formulation makes this the ideal cleanser for post-treatment care.

2. Daily HydroBoost Serum

This serum is a hyaluronic acid-based serum for daily hydration and pollution protection, which is essential for sensitized skin. The HydroBoost complex is formulated with 4 different molecular weights of HA and japanese camellia for soothing antioxidant protection. This formulation will increase hydration and will prevent damage from rapid moisture loss in sensitized skin. This hydration will decrease recovery times and give the skin a youthful glow.

3. Moisturize

Here are two excellent options for moisturizing sensitized skin.
The Daily Face Cream is a particularly light cream that is perfect for recovering skin. Unlike other creams, the Daily Face Cream uses aloe vera juice as a base, which makes it uniquely light and moisturizing. As sensitized skin can be prone to breakouts, the Daily Face Cream is formulated to be non-comedogenic, to ensure the skin can be hydrated without introducing other issues that could compromise the results. Finally, the Daily Face Cream introduces gentle protection with oils that mimic natural sebum – such as jojoba oil, and seal in hydration – such as shea butter. This formulation is excellent for professionals looking to improve aftercare for their clients.

Squalane Oil is another excellent option for those who prefer oils, or already have sensitive skin. Squalene (with an e) is naturally produced in your skin, and Squalane is the vegan version. This means that squalane is almost identical to the moisturizing and plumping factor that your skin produces. This makes it the product of choice for those with reactive skin. Squalane can be used by itself or after the Daily Face Cream to lock in the moisture. As an added bonus, Squalane is one of the only products that reduces the appearance of wrinkles that is suitable for use after sensitizing treatments. By using this product your clients will see even better results from your treatment, while also gaining gentle moisturization.
